Rushmore are George Washington (first president), Thomas Jefferson (third president, responsible for the Louisiana Purchase), Theodore Roosevelt (26th president, known for conservation efforts and national parks) and Abraham Lincoln (16th president who preserved the nation during the Civil War and wrote the Emancipation Proclamation).
